Krzysztof Soszynski: from Poland to idolizing Hulk Hogan in Canada

Former member of the L.A. Anacondas of the International Fight League (IFL), Krzysztof Soszynski recalls immigrating to Canada from a communist Poland at age 10. At that time, both Soszynski brothers used to watch a lot of television and got hooked to WWE wrestling through Hulk Hogan‘s charismatic figure. A decade later, the former Team Frank Mir member (TUF 8) made his pro-wrestling debut in WWE - Bad News Brown, MMA trainer of Krzysztof SoszynskiWestern Canada under the nickname “The Smashing Machine”. Krzysztof Soszynski, an amateur bodybuilder at the time, explains his introduction to professional wrestling at age 23: it is under former WWE legend, the late Bad News Brown that Soszynski learned the ropes of the squared circle in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Former Light Heavyweight fighter of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Krzysztof Soszynski tells how former WWE wrestler Bad News Brown influenced him into Mixed Martial Arts. Brown, born Allen Coage, was an Olympic bronze medallist in judo (Montréal, Canada, 1976) and a practitioner of aïkido and japanese jiu-jitsu: he taught Soszynski a few basic submission holds and the latter got hooked to MMA immediately. 7 years later, Krzysztof Soszynski was making his UFC debut.
